The Merchant of Venice

When Shakespeare wrote his plays, it is unlikely that he had an idea his works would reign in his afterlife. The same case applies to Simon Fuller the creator of the popular reality show, American Idol. Shakespeare’s work has been rated top since his time on earth to date. The play is regarded as a masterpiece due to its dramatic scenes and the fusion of romance, humor and tragedy. Although Shakespeare is criticized of lack of originality by not being the original composer of most of his works, his ability to coin the plays to such dramatic levels is outstanding. Almost all of his plays and poems are masterpieces. These include plays like the famous Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest among others. The Merchant of Venice is an intriguing piece of work that has been embraced all over the globe due to its dramatic twists and unique style of writing.

It is believed to have been written between 1596 and 1598. The play has survived the test of time living through five centuries. The work is strongly embraced to date. It is also used all over the globe for literature studies in all levels of education. It has been also been adapted to film by various producers all over the globe up to this century. It is evident that the play is a classical piece of work and will surely last years to come.

Another classical piece of work as mentioned is the American Idol show. The show is TV reality show that features singing competition. The idea behind the show is one factor that makes it a classic show. People are always swayed by talent. The show is emotional and captures the audience heavily. Although it is a modern show, it has already broken the record on American television. It has ranked number one for eight years in a row since it was first launched in 2002, breaking the record set by other classic shows like The Cosby show and All in the Family.

Despite the introduction of other reality shows, it is still ranked among the top. The show will continue in the future because every year there are new talents competing, and it is a human interest show. The fact that it is produced by 19 production houses also depict that it is not likely that it will collapse any time soon.
